授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	本授業は、外国語学研究科博士後期課程の学位授与方針（DP）や教育課程の編成?実施の方針（CP）が示す「文化分野において研究者として自立して教育?研究活動を行うために必要な能力」を養うことの中でも、とりわけコミュニケーション論やレトリック理論、思想?哲学分野に関する思考?理解力を高めることを目的としている。　 　Jonathan Craryの『The Techniques of the Observer』の講読を通じて、近代の視覚メディアと主体形成の歴史を考察していく。同時に、テクストが理論的?歴史的下敷きにしているミシェル?フーコーの『The Order of Things』を参照しつつ、理解を深めていく。 　近代の主体とメディアを理論的に理解するために必要なことは、１７世紀以降の歴史と文化の中でその変化を捉えていくことである。このメディア文化史を実証的に論じた著書を綿密に精読していく。 　履修者は必ず事前にご連絡下さい。
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	当該箇所を輪読し、担当者による発表と、受講者による議論とフィードバックを、講義と講読を組み合わせた演習の授業形式で行う。
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	授業の時間に加えて、事前に２時間、事後に１時間程度（週によっては、事前に１時間、事後に２時間程度）の学習が必要です。 　授業の前には、予習として課題となる箇所を読んで専門用語の意味等を諸文献できちんと調べ理解し、準備をした上で授業に臨み、授業後は当該の箇所を読み直して、各自で必ず復習してください。授業内での発表をする際には、課題の担当箇所の詳細なレジュメを事前に作成して、授業に参加すること。
