授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	この科目は、外国語学研究科博士前期課程の学位授与方針（DP)ならびに教育課程の編成?実施方針（CP)が示す「実践的な言語運用能力と国際社会の多様性を理解する態度」と「語学分野において、適切な問題設定を行い、必要な先行研究の成果やデータを収集?分析できる能力」、とりわけ日英語の比較統語研究におけるこれらの能力を高めることを目的とする。具体的には存在文、数量詞遊離、形容詞の分類などに関する論文を精読し、文構造と意味解釈の関係を分析する。
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	対面の演習形式で授業を行う。履修者には授業で課された論文の内容をレポートし、そのciritical reviewを各学期に3回書いてもらう。レポートはManabaに提出し、フィードバックはManaba及び対面授業で行う。 Maienborn, Claudia. 2011.
